Confused at this behavior, Midnight's left wide awake for a long, long time, staring at the closed curtain. In the past, whenever his owners were finished using him for the night, they'd either fallen asleep while holding him against them or sending him to his own little cot. No one's ever just... cleaned him up and left him in their bed.
After a moment, he reaches out and opens the curtain a crack, peeking out to see what Grey's doing.
Grey cleans himself up and cleans up the signs of their fucking from the floor and the chair. Then he takes a moment to grab a sip of water and while he's at it, he grabs a bottle of water from his shelf and takes it to the bed, tucking it inside the curtains so the mage can drink if he wants to.
Then he brings the lantern to the table and gives their route one last look. This is when the mage peeks through the curtains and Grey gives him a glance, one brow quirking for a moment but he doesn't say anything.
When a yawn cracks his face, he doesn't say much, just disappears quietly, assuming that Midnight is fast asleep. He'll go poke up a few of the men. The storm has mellowed down to hard, good winds that they can use to get their move on. Right now they'll make most of the trip before the winds disappear. When he opens the door Rook is there, leaning against the wall, obviously waiting for him. The mage gives him a look that is hard to read and Grey doesn't even try. "Go wake up Kai, then get back on the deck. We're raising the sails."
"Aye, I thought you might say that."
They close the door behind them and leave Midnight to the peace and quiet of the captain's cabin.
Midnight sits there for a while, distantly hearing the creak of the sails being unfurled and the strong winds still gusting around them. Eventually he makes up his mind and slips out of the bed, legs still feeling weak as he pulls his clothes on, already feeling cold even with being covered up again. Then he's sneaking out of the cabin, keeping his head down and ducking below deck to go to his hammock for the night, mind still racing around and around in circles from the events that had led to his thrumming satisfaction.
