Grey listens to him - he always does never mind what time of day or frame of mind - and gently brushes his hands up and down along Midnight's back. There's obviously something on his mind tonight and Grey wants to know what it is, how to figure it out with him.
"Well, gladly you don't have to do that. Alone," he says eventually, poking his nose against Midnight's wrinkling one. "I'd rather be boiled in hot oil than let you do that."
He presses his mouth to Midnight's, kissing him gently on the lips but doesn't let the lip lock turn into anything heady just yet.
"You know," he murmurs against Midnight's mouth. "You're my rock as well. You do know that, don't you?"
It's impossible not to feel touched, both from the kiss and the words, and Midnight ends up smiling against Grey's lips, hands reaching up to warmly frame his face. "Yeah... I love you," he murmurs, kissing the corner of Grey's lips. "Even when you won't fuck me out of a hangover."
Yeah, so that might have been a joke, but they could both do with some humor.
"I love you too," Grey murmurs back while he turns his head until their noses are resting together again. "And look, I love you so much that I'll hang you onto my cock tonight and fuck you in the morning if that's what you really want."
It might have been a joke, but Grey takes it seriously, maybe for the comedy of it, or he's being serious, could be either really.
Midnight laughs with delight and gives a 'chastising' nip to Grey's nose, regardless of how much alcohol the poor man's about to get a whiff of on his breath. "You're such a dirty fucking tease, you know that?" he giggles, tugging on Grey's beard for good measure.
"Mm, Titanic-style, hot," Midnight croons. "I should draw you like one of them French girls sometime, hm? Except I don't know that I'd be able to keep my hands off you long enough to draw you in the buff."
Just the thought of Grey draping dramatically over a couch with just a blue sapphire necklace on is worth a few giggles, though. Don't mind him, Midnight's ridiculous like that.
"Are you trying to lie to me that you've never drawn me naked before," Grey murmurs against Midnight's mouth, teasing him with nipping kisses at the corners of his mouth.
"I don't believe you, little bird. I think you probably have boxes full of nudes drawn of him along the ages."
"If I have, that would imply I've been doing it while you're unaware, so most likely asleep, which could come across as creepy," Midnight hums, pausing here and there to kiss Grey back.
He's also very much not denying Grey's theories.
"... I definitely haven't drawn you sprawled over a couch with a pretty necklace on while you make 'fuck me' eyes at me?"
"I'm quite certain you have vivid enough imagination to recount all our beach sessions during the years we all great up," Grey teases him without mercy. Midnight giggles against Grey's lips and has to pause with his brow pressed to the mechanic's, tittering at how ridiculous his lover is being for him. "You're wonderful, you know that?" he chirps, pinching Grey's cheeks for good measure. "One of these days, let's do that. See how long I last without just throwing myself on top of you."
"Five minutes," Grey predicts. "You're not exactly known for your ability to keep it in your pants."
He's teasing but he's not much better when it comes to keeping it in his pants in regards to Midnight. It's a good thing they have such passion for each other after being together for such a long time.

The artist's laughter is muffled by the kiss and he's more than happy to lean into it, hands shifting to tangle in Grey's hair while cradling his head. While it's doubtful whether they'd succeed in making the windows fog up as Grey had 'promised', Midnight's certainly happy to make a good effort of it!
His fingers tighten a bit, fingertips lightly pressing against Grey's scalp like an affectionate cat kneading away. Rolling his eyes with a dramatically put upon sigh, he stroke back some of Grey's hair from his face and hums, "We'll just have to set a rabbit fuck date, I guess. How's your weekend schedule looking, hmm?"
"Oh, I think we can stretch it over the week too," Grey murmurs as he turns his face to Midnight's palm and kisses his wrists. "Every day like our lives depend on it."
But since he has nothing against the idea of spending a whole day in bed, he actually responds to the question. "I've got a prior engagement with Aidan on Saturday, but Sunday I could be all yours. And my Monday is looking mighty easy so we can make this a moonlight affair as well."
Midnight's answering grin could outshine the sun, beaming and bright as he stares at Grey with clear adoration in his eyes. "You, cher, are spoiling me," he comments with a carefree laugh. "All right, I'm booking you in for Sunday. I'll even meal prep for us so we can just fuck and eat without any effort like a proper pair of hedonistic assholes."
He considers asking after what Grey's got planned with Aidan, but holds his tongue and just shakes his head with a sigh. He doesn't ask where Grey goes for those diving sessions, or why he and Aidan come back looking simultaneously satisfied and tense, sometimes paying attention far more closely to the news and keeping an eye on the harbour as though he's half-expecting someone to show up unannounced. While he might have his suspicions, Midnight gets the feeling if he knew the full details, he'd just worry more. So he stays half in the dark, content in knowing he can trust Grey to be careful.
"Take me inside?" he suggests with a fond smile. "Fun as it might be to pass out kissing you, I'd also like to snuggle in bed, babe."
"All right," Grey replies easily as he starts to gather the artist and all his things neat and close to himself. As he's slipping them out of the truck and grabbing the keys from the ignition, he hums under his breath, "One of these days we'll fuck in this truck. I sometimes daydream about bending you over the steering wheel."
It's an easy confession that ends with Grey smiling up at his boyfriend. It's a quick smile that fades away as he looks away, locking the doors of the truck and then starts the careful trip towards the shore and their boat, picking up his trail carefully while bearing Midnight's weight on his hips.
There's a stunned silence as Grey plucks Midnight up out of the truck, and then the artist glances back, squinting at the truck steering wheel. "... Hot as that is, I dunno that I'm that small to make that work, babe," he muses, giving the matter far more consideration than it probably deserves.
Then he brightens and glances up at Grey's face, point out, "But you could fuck me across the seats?"
